BRINGING YOUR PETS
Stop and scroll down for information needed when bringing your pet to Clayton Park, including our pet policy, local veterinarians, and other pet services.
Clayton Park welcomes you, your children, and your pets, per this pet policy. Please read this policy in its entirety. You can also watch this short video on Pet Policy FAQs.
You must recognize that you are in an environment where there are likely to be many other dogs and many small children. Therefore, we take our leash requirements and supervision of pets seriously. To provide a safe and pleasurable experience for everyone, all campers and visitors agree to abide by this pet policy. Have you ever been asked to provide proof of insurance for your dog? Do you know if you are insured in the event your dog bites someone? What about if your dog is bitten by another dog? Did you know that in the U.S., a dog bite occurs every 75 seconds, and every day 1000 people seek emergency treatment for dog bites? As responsible campground owners, we must think about it. Have you? When asked, Campers must also provide proof of insurance (your declarations page) for their dog. Read more about why you should insure your dogs here.

(Camper's dog's weight cannot exceed 85 lbs & Camper's guest's dogs cannot exceed 25 pounds) Campers must register all pets with the office prior to entry into the park. Upon registration, all pet owners guarantee their pet has the current required vaccination and licensing and owner is prepared to present proof of such upon Clayton Park's request at any time. Clayton Park reserves the right to deny a pet registration for any reason. Remember that pets must always be leashed and under the owner’s control at all times. Campers may not leave their pet unattended in the park at any time. Campers are strictly prohibited from tying pets to trees or creating unstalbe tie-out conditions. Campers are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Persistent barking or any type of nuisance and/or disturbance which agitates other Campers will not be tolerated. Dogs over 85 pounds are prohibited (online bookings may register 2 dogs, max 25 pounds each). If you had a reservation before this policy was enacted & your dog is over 85 lbs, you may still bring your dog. Dog breeds known to be aggressive, or mixed breeds, which include, but are not limited to Pit Bulls, American Staffordshire Terriers, American Bull Dogs, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Bull Terriers, Akitas, Chow Chows and Doberman Pincers are restricted from Clayton Park, as well as any other dog breeds that Clayton Park management determines to be aggressive or pose increased risk. Clayton Park may grant a waiver and make exceptions to this rule on a case by case basis only, and with an abundance of caution. A waiver requires that the owners & management of Clayton Park management meet, interact, and approve of the dog in advance of granting a reservation. This waiver may involve special restrictions, and may be reassessed and revoked at any time. Waivers will be made in writing, and do not eliminate the pet owner's liability or imply Clayton Park bears liability for the animal's management conduct and/or behavior. A waiver does not imply that Clayton Park accepts any liability for the pet's conduct and behavior. Pet owners must be prepared to show proof of additional insurance for the pet considered for waiver. Non compliance with this pet policy and/or any incident which demonstrates a violation of this policy will result in immediate expulsion from Clayton Park property and forfeiture of all monies paid.
